Children will meet our friendly Kunekune pigs, including piglets, while learning about their care, diet, and habitat. Through interactive activities, kids will get up close with these gentle animals, discover how they contribute to sustainable farming, and gain an appreciation for farm life. For the safety of all attendees, pets are not allowed at this event.

At First Roots Farm, we want to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone during our Lake County Littles event. Here’s what you need to know about supervising your little ones during your time at the Farm:

• Parental Supervision Required:
  • All children must be supervised by an adult at all times. This is a working farm, and we want to make sure your little ones are safe while exploring.
• Kunekune Pig Fences:
  • Please be aware that our Kunekune pig fences are electrified for safety. Children and adults are not allowed to enter the pig fences. 
• Farm Environment:
  • First Roots Farm is a natural environment with uneven terrain, insects, and potential allergens. Ensure that your children are dressed appropriately for outdoors, and keep them within designated picking areas for their safety. 
• Respecting the Farm:
  • We want everyone to enjoy the fun and have a great time but be respectful of the animals and photography spaces. 
• Trash-Free Zone:
  • Please bring any snacks or drinks you may need, but remember to take all trash home with you. We aim to keep the farm clean and tidy for future visitors.
